How Testifi writes a paper

You choose the content and the format. Testifi does the writing, the checking and the typesetting. Here's what happens between pressing Generate and downloading your paper.

Five stages, every question

  1. 1

    Map to the syllabus

You choose outcomes from the NSW syllabus, by course, topic and subtopic. All 1,188 outcomes are mapped, so nothing on the paper falls outside what you've taught.

    • Year 12 Advanced96 outcomes
    • Applications of Calculus16 subtopics
    • Stationary points and their nature12A.5.3
    • Velocity and acceleration from displacement12A.5.15
    • Solving motion problems with calculus12A.5.16
    • Integral Calculus24 subtopics

Every outcome has its own question blueprints at three levels of difficulty.

  2. 2

    Plan the paper

Before a question is written, the paper is laid out to your settings: total marks, the mix of easy, medium and hard, multiple choice against short answer, and the order questions appear in.

    40 marks: Section I, 10 × 1 mark. Section II, 7 questions sized 3 to 6 marks.

  3. 3

    Write with expert guidance

Every question is written against a blueprint our team built for that exact outcome and difficulty, along with an HSC style guide and controls that keep every context on the paper fresh. That's why it reads like an exam question, not a chatbot answer.

  4. 4

    Verify every question

Several layers of checks test each question before it can join your paper: is the maths right, will it print, does the scenario make sense, is it clearly worded. Anything that fails is rewritten. You never see the drafts.

    • Maths
    • Prints cleanly
    • Makes sense
    • Clearly worded

80 m/s is about 290 km/h. No sprinter does that.

Rewritten before it reached the paper

  5. 5

    Print in HSC format

The finished paper is laid out like a NESA exam: cover page with instructions, Section I with a bubble answer sheet, a Section II answer booklet with working space, and a separate worked-solutions PDF.

The groundwork a chatbot skips

Anyone can ask a chatbot for a maths question. What makes a Testifi question exam-ready is the work underneath it, and that took far longer to build than the app itself.

Every outcome, mapped

We worked through every NSW maths syllabus from Year 7 to Extension 2, outcome by outcome, so you choose content the way you teach it.

A blueprint for every question

For each outcome at each difficulty, our team built guidance on what to ask and what makes it exam-standard. It's the slowest part of Testifi to build, and the hardest to copy.

Questions that combine topics

Choose two or more outcomes and some questions bring them together, the way the hardest HSC questions do.

What a chatbot doesn't have

The same request, two ways.

A general chatbot

Write a hard Year 12 calculus question about motion with the answer.

A particle moves so that $x = t^3 - 6t^2 + 9t$. Find when it is at rest and its acceleration at those times.

Answer: t = 1, t = 3; a = −6, 6

  • Syllabus

Every question is tied to one of the 1,188 NSW outcomes you choose. Nothing out of scope.

Guesses what the course covers, and can drift outside it.

  • Question quality

Written from 7,400+ expert blueprints, one for each outcome at each difficulty, with a fresh context every time.

Recycles familiar textbook questions. Quality changes from one request to the next.

  • Difficulty

Easy, medium and hard are defined outcome by outcome, then mixed to the exact split you set.

“Hard” means whatever it decides on the day.

  • HSC style

HSC command words, marks on every part, NESA-style notation, units and Australian contexts.

No mark allocations, inconsistent notation, generic wording.

  • Accuracy

Every question is verified for the maths, clean printing, real-world sense and clear wording before you see it.

Nobody checks the answer. Mistakes read just as confidently as correct working.

  • What you get

A print-ready paper in HSC layout and a separate worked-solutions PDF.

Text in a chat window to copy, paste and format yourself.

Checked before you see it

A wrong answer on a practice paper costs a teacher more time than the paper saved, and teaches a student the mistake. So every question passes several independent layers of checks before it can join your paper.

They test that the maths is right, that the question prints cleanly, that the scenario makes sense in the real world, and that the wording is clear. A question that fails is rewritten until it passes.

On the rare occasion one can't be fixed, it's flagged in your preview so you can replace it. Nothing slips onto the paper unnoticed.

Built for paper, not a chat window

Students sit the HSC on paper, so Testifi produces properly typeset, printable papers in the exam's own layout, with mathematical notation set the way it appears in the real thing.

Graphs, tables and diagrams are drawn to scale in black and white. Units are metric, contexts are Australian, and wording follows HSC conventions: "Find", "Show that", "Hence".

You preview the whole paper in your browser, regenerate any single question, then download the paper and its worked solutions as separate PDFs.
